To Cut the Bullshit or to Not Cut the Bullshit that is the Question
You know the saying that life is short? Well, my friends, I have never heard a truer statement. Life is too damn short. So why do we like to surround ourselves with petty nonsense?
I ask myself that every day and I am sure most of you do too. But the real question is, what do we do?
I guess the first step would be for us to look into ourselves and decide what’s best for us. We are the most important people in our lives and the one person we know who will never disappoint us.
We know what we have to let go of, but we have this fear of the unknown and sometimes feel like the other side isn’t going to be greener so we decide to stay.
It could be a job we hate, family members we don’t get along with, friends who don’t treat us right, a tired relationship, or a million other reasons.
Of course, it can be scary at first but it can also be the best thing for us. I have been in situations where I knew I wasn't happy and I was torn on what to do. In college, I was in a sorority and I loved it my first few years, but toward the end, I realized it wasn't for me because I wasn't happy. I didn't know what to do because I spent all my time and energy in this organization, but I knew I would be miserable my final year in college if I stayed. I decided to cut it out of my life and it was the best decision I had ever made because my eyes opened to other opportunities on campus that I would have missed that final year had I been too scared to leave.
The bottom line is if we don’t feel like cutting the bullshit out is the right decision we won’t do it and it’s going to be a never-ending cycle of unhappiness.
